Our Story
We are an Assembly of God church that started in Houston in 1963 when a small congregation purchased the White Oak Baptist Church at 2800 Mangum Rd. In 1983 Faith purchased 10 acres and relocated to 7755 Fairbanks N. Houston where we remain today!
In 1965 Rev. John C. Miner became the pastor and led Faith Assembly for three years until his son-in-law Rev. Happy & Jonnie Darneal took over in 1968. Under Pastor Happyʼs leadership Faith began to grow and our current property and facilities were purchased and completed in 1983. In September 2006, Rev. Happy Darneal graduated into the presence of the Lord. In November 2006, Rev. Jason and Shara Taylor began their ministry at Faith.
We’ve grown tremendously over the past 47 years reaching beyond our walls to mission fields around the world. Our heart is to minister to people of all ages and all economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds. Throughout the years, thousands have been touched by this body of believers.
Today, we continue in our ministry as individuals develop on their spiritual journey.

We want your role in our story to begin here and grow into the plan God has specifically designed for you. This discovery will be invaluable for your future in Christ.
